I vote for a yurt! In Northern California or Oregon! Or Washington!
Here's the thing: yurts are cool. They do not ask you to stick poles through them, nor tie down stakes, nor do they feel house-like. How's about this website? YURTS WA! Also, is it just asking for trouble to go to Cape Disappointment? And here's the yurt link for Oregon: YURTS OR! And here is an umbrella website with links to yurts all over the Western US: YURTS WESTERN USA!
Seriously though, let's nail this down! Some things to consider:
--Is there a fresh or running water source in the camp?
--Can we make a campfire there?
--Can we bring alcohol?
--Are there hiking trails or other things to do nearby?
--Should we bring cards and poker chips? Or a Tarot deck?
Things to consider!
Lots of exclamation points this time!!!!!

I vote no on WA because there is a burn ban and not being able to have fire is a MAJOR buzz-kill.
ReplyDeleteI vote Big Sur. Just 'cause.
ReplyDeleteI also vote Big Sur for no good reason at all. The onnnllyy problem is that the Yurts are damn expensive. How long are we planning on being there for? A full week? Maybe we could scan the internet for a discount on Yurts?
ReplyDeletehmmm, we will just have to look hard. also, we can try searching craigslist for vacation rentals...maybe someone will have a cool cabin for cheaper. but yurts are the best. also, maybe we can keep looking outside of big sur, too, in case an awesome deal comes up somewhere else.
ReplyDeleteGood ideas all, ladies. If we had to, tents would also be fine. Cheaper too. I wouldn't mind investing in a tent. Keep an eye out.
