Kirk Creek?

Or any other of the lovely first come first served campsites in Big Sur? Sounds good to me!

Here's a list of all the Big Sur campgrounds.

I say let's plan for Kirk Creek in Big Sur and make some reservations (six months ahead is the limit). It's cheap, beautiful, and has fire pits. No showers apparently but we'll be right next to the ocean! And there are spigots for fresh water, sinks and flush toilets. Pretty ritzy!

So that means, we need to finalize these dates ladies! Are you all going to want to stay for a week or just a four-day weekend (as I will be)? Comment that info, bitchezzzz!

  1. Also: it might be cheaper for me to fly into San Jose rather than LAX, so if I rented a van, and Alisha and Laura met me in San Jose, would you be willing to split the cost of the rental? Although that would mean you'd have to leave with me as well.

Let's also consider that we're talking about Fourth of July weekend (or would the weekend before work? That might be stressful for me as I'll probably be finishing a paper, though, so it's gotta be at least ending on the 3rd, and I'll come in for the last bit.

  2. The dates in the previous post work just great for me, and I would still definitely like to go for the whole week if that's still on the table for everyone.

Although I said I could be the designated site finder/booker, my current situation is really not gonna allow for me to help :(. Sorry kids. Malisha, I know you said you might like to take this on and if so, poifect.

With regards to which campsite to choose, (and yes I am a whiny little girl here, fair enough) I am not trying to stay in a campsite where I don't have access to a shower for a week unless it's in a place where we can get to the beach every day (smelly, dirty jenna= no fun AT ALL). I've only been to Big Sur once and our beach access was non-existent. Maybe we could make access to beach-swimming a factor in our choice? Or maybe i should just suck it up and rig up a camping shower when we get there?

    Is anyone else coming?!?!?

  3. It said there was a "short trail" to the beach on the website. There are fancier places too, but of course, they are a bit more expensive. We can rig up some kind of rinse off station (hey, like India with the bucket!) since there are spigots with fresh water...I dunno, I'm OK with lack of showers as long as we have fresh water available. We can figure it out.

Thanks for replying so fast! :)
